Maths Tuesday 31st March

Before we finish our work on adding and subtracting fractions, I would like to see if you can use your understanding of fractions to solve some problems.
Remember when you are explaining a mistake or explaining the reason for a calculation you need to use words as well as showing what the actual answer is or should be.

 Now try the questions below.

You might want to change the whole numbers to fractions to help you 
eg 1 whole =3/3 so 2 wholes will be 6/3 and 3 wholes will be 9/3
Similarly 3 wholes =24/8   (3 x 8/8)
Finding the difference means subtract   -
