What would you have done after school
Now that is quite a question! How
much have things changed in the way people live over the last century? A lot!
To narrow it down a bit, let’s look at how leisure
activities have changed for children living a hundred years ago, so around 1920, just after World War 1 had ended
in 1918.
(Leisure means what you’d do during your spare time.)
LC1: How would you have coped
without television or your iPad?
We will need to think beyond our use of iPads
etc for school work, especially right now.
Consider what you use iPads, televisions, or any other electronics, for
during your own spare time. What would
you do without them?
What
activities did children do back then?
What games did they play?
What was hoop trundling?
What
toys did they have? Here are some examples of some board games
children played. Do you recognise them? What else can you find out? What games and toys were completely different
to today’s? Are any the same, or
similar?
I’m looking forward to reading what you’ve found out!
