English Thursday 18th June


Pronouns

Last week we practised using synonyms to stretch our vocabulary and also to avoid repetition.  We don’t want to be using the same words over and over again!  This week we will practice recognising and using pronouns, in order to avoid repeating the name of a noun too many times.

How can we avoid repetition?  Have a look at this sentence:

Gary ate supper when Gary got home.  Gary enjoyed the food.





Have a look think about what would sound best to fix the following passage.  Use the list and try different pronouns but be careful – too much change will make it sound too confusing!
