Bonjour les enfants! Bienvenue
vendredi!
We must not
forget all our hard work from other lessons!
Comment tu t’appelle? (‘ko-mon) You would
answer: Je m’appelle _______.
For example Je m’appelle Max. Je m’appelle
Mia.
Have a practice asking
and answering many times out loud! Pretend
anyone in your house is new to you, introduce yourselves!
When is your birthday? Birthday is anniversaire
in French.
My birthday = Mon
anniversaire
If someone asks
you when your birthday is, the question will be:
“Quelle
est la date de ton anniversaire?”
(‘la date’ is pronounced ‘la dat’)
Your answer will
be:
Mon anniversaire c’est le ______ _________. (Here you add the date and month.)
For example: Mon
anniversaire c’est le cinq novembre.
(My birthday is 5th
November)
Is it your
birthday today?
Well, Happy
Birthday! Here it is in French:
Joyeux anniversaire (‘jwa-yeu
zah ni vehr sehr’)
As anniversaire
starts with a vowel, we need to join the sounds of the two words. ('liason')
Here is a very
helpful video with nothing more than a helpful song – of two words! Sing along!
Practise putting sentences together to say a bit about yourself:
Bonjour!
Je m'appelle ________.
J'ai _____ ans.
Mon anniversaire c'est le ___________.
You can do it!
Time to practise a little more of what you have been learning about. What do you think le visage means...?
