Simple Verb Tenses
Let’s have a bit of
practice with simple verb tenses. Sometimes we can miss errors when reading
through our work and forget to be consistent. (This means to continue in the
same tense in which we started.)
In which tenses are
these two sentences written? Look at the verbs to find out:
Alice was not a bit hurt, and she jumped up on to her feet in a moment.
Alice is not a bit hurt, and she jumps up on to her feet in a moment.
Have
a read of this text called A Walk in the Park. It certainly
reminds me of taking my own dog for a walk and encountering similar situations.
I also like the name of one of the dogs, hope you will too!
First, find all of the verbs throughout
the text – check carefully -every sentence will have one! You could write them
down in order so you don’t miss any for what to do next:
